Guy Rosenthal
Guy Rosenthal, MD serves as Associate Professor of Neurosurgery and Director of Neurotrauma and Neurointensive Care at Hadassah-Hebrew University Medical Center in Jerusalem, Israel. After completing his neurosurgical residency at Hadassah, Dr. Rosenthal completed a fellowship in Neurotrauma and Neurointensive Care at the University of California, San Francisco where he went on to serve as Assistant Professor and attending neurosurgeon at San Francisco General Hospital. Dr. Rosenthal’s research interest has focused on neurotrauma and neurophysiology of the injured brain. Beginning at UCSF and continuing at Hadassah, his translational research has centered on cerebral physiology in a swine model of traumatic brain injury and cerebral edema. His clinical research has been directed to advanced cerebral monitoring in the neurointensive care unit. In recent years, he has collaborated extensively with the Bioengineering Department at Tel Aviv University on both modelling intracranial pressure and on developing novel technologies to assess intracranial compliance.
Dr. Rosenthal serves on the Brain Trauma Foundation committees for the Guidelines for the Treatment of Severe Traumatic Brain Injury and the recently published Penetrating Traumatic Brain Injury Guidelines. He is an Associate Editor for the Trauma Section of Neurosurgery and has served on the Research Committee of the European Association of Neurological Surgeons. He is Associate Section Editor for Trauma for Youmans and Winn’s Neurological Surgery.
